Man United still haven’t decided where Andreas Pereira will play his football next season…
Andreas Pereira (remember him?), has spent the season on loan with Flamengo back in Brazil.
The midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last summer, though no permanent deal was struck – most likely due to Manchester United’s tall asking price.
A move to Brazil, with the opportunity to play regular football, was undoubtedly a smart choice by Pereira. Though where his future lies is still a mystery.
Apparently, another Brazilian club, Palmeiras, are keen on signing Pereira on a one-year loan deal for their 2022/23 campaign. However, United are yet to decide what to do with the man who has become a forgotten player at Old Trafford.
Not too long ago, there were reports claiming that Pereira may well find a way back into the fold at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag – which would certainly raise some eyebrows…
One place Pereira will not be heading is back to Flamengo. That’s been confirmed by Nicola, who claimed he is ‘on his way out’ of the Brazilian side, who do not want to bring him in on a permanent deal.
The fact that United are stalling on making a decision in regards to Pereira leads me to believe that Ten Hag wants to have a proper look at the midfielder before moving him on.
Perhaps the man who was born in Belgium could get a chance on pre-season tour, before United make their final choice.
Once again, selling Pereira permanently may prove to be tough, with United’s demands likely to be high.
