Some Man United Youth Cup winners have brilliantly recreated a classic photo from the 2011 FA Youth Cup side.
Manchester United lifted their first FA Youth Cup in eleven years last night, with the lads putting on a show in front of a record-breaking Old Trafford crowd.
The victory was hard-fought, with both sides playing some lovely football. No doubt some of the lads on that pitch will go on to enjoy genuine success at the highest level at some point in the not too distant future.
From a Manchester United standpoint, it’s hard not to get excited. From Alejandro Garnacho and Charlie McNeill, to Marc Jurado and Rhys Bennett, the U18s side is an incredibly-talented bunch of lads.
After the victory, four of the stars recreated an iconic photo from the Reds’ last Youth Cup win eleven years ago.
As you can see from the shot below, Sam Mather, Dan Gore, Jobie Mainoo and Maxi Oyedele mimicked the poses of Ryan Tunnicliffe, Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison. This is brilliant!
Check out the side-by-side of both the photos here:
First and foremost, it shows a desire to learn about the history of our club. These lads are more than familiar with the team that last lifted this trophy over a decade ago – and are obviously looking to follow in their footsteps.
Now there’s no pressure lads, but Tunnicliffe, Lingard, Pogba and Morrison have all gone on to enjoy careers at the professional level! So the bar has been set pretty high.
From what I saw last night, all four of the boys who played all looked like they could mix it with the best of their age group – so I’d be a fool to bet against them.
If I had to pick one out, Mainoo looked sublime in midfield. He worked hard on both sides of the ball, looked super composed and was more than a match physically, too.
This is class, isn’t it!?
Can any of these lads make it at the first-team level? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
