Manchester United will be looking to appease the fans by making some big moves in the transfer window this summer, whoever is in the managerial hot-seat. The next name linked with a huge money move to Old Trafford is Juventus’ Alvaro Morata.
The Guardian say that Morata, who recently turned 23, will be on the move this summer; but it won’t be a straightforward transfer.
Real Madrid are ready to exercise a £23.6m buy-back option on the Spaniard, before selling him on for profit with a whole host of clubs interested in his signature.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are all believed to be firmly in the hunt for the young man, but Morata himself would prefer a move to Manchester United if given the choice.
He’d certainly bring some much-needed pace to United’s front line, and alongside the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, they could provide the spine of a really strong line-up going forward at Old Trafford.
Edward Woodward and the rest of the board would certainly have to act quick though, with some other big clubs all sniffing around.
