Manchester United reportedly made a last minute move for Gareth Bale just hours before he sealed the deal with Real Madrid a couple of seasons ago, with Moyes preparing to offer a world record fee to eclipse Ancelotti’s move for the Welshman.
As we all know, that didn’t happen and Bale went on to have a stunning debut season, helping deliver La Decima come May.
However this year has been different, with performances seemingly not impressing the Madrid fans. This all came to the boil after their defeat in El Clasico, with a couple of fans attacking Bale’s car shortly after the game.
United have seen this, and are ready to test his resolve by bidding for him this summer. However they’ll face competition from Manchester City from his signature if he were to leave the Bernabeu.
It is thought that Bale will stay in Madrid despite the fans getting on his back at the moment, but if he does leave then surely United have a great chance of signing him.
