Man Utd boosted as club to listen to offers for midfielder

Manchester United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Ilkay Gundogan. The Dortmund midfielder has just over twelve months left on his current deal at the Westfalonstadion, and the German side are ready to cash in so they don’t lose him on a free transfer.

The news comes from the usually reliable Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail, as he goes on to add that Manchester United have a firm interest in the 24-year old.

Gundogan has just come back from long-term injuries that have kept him sidelined for over a year, so it’d be wise to leave this one as late as possible into the summer before making a final decision, just to test his fitness levels and see how he gets on.

Louis van Gaal is believed to see Ilkay Gundogan as a long-term replacement for the midfield maestro Michael Carrick.
