Manchester United will be looking to avenge the 1-0 loss to Manchester City earlier in the season, and going off form there is no better time for the game against local rivals, with much more than pride at stake.
It has been four years since United won a league derby at Old Trafford, when Wayne Rooney scored that wonder goal to give United all three points.
The lads haven’t had a better chance than this upcoming game in recent years, and there hopes were further boosted by Manuel Pellegrini’s press conference today.
The Chilean confirmed that Wilfried Bony will certainly miss the game, whereas Vincent Kompany is a major doubt for the clash.
That could leave Martin Demichelis and the inconsistent Eliaquim Mangala as their central pairing, and Wayne Rooney will certainly fancy his chances against those two.
