Manchester United are closing in on their second signing of the January window, with the Daily Star reporting that a £20million deal for Nathaniel Clyne is close. The England international has made great strides in the footballing world this season, thoroughly impressing many of England’s top clubs.
Louis van Gaal is believed to prefer Nathaniel Clyne over Seamus Coleman, and is prepared to pay over the odds to land the youngster in this transfer window if possible.
It is thought that United had scouts watching Clyne at Southampton’s last game, and with not long left to run on his contract, Ronald Koeman may be forced to cash in on his first-choice right-back sooner rather than later.
I’d love to see Clyne at United. His ability to defend as well as attack is somewhat rare for a full-back in modern day football. He also seems to have his head screwed on tightly enough. Hopefully this deal can get done in this window as it’d go a long way to helping us secure a top four finish this season.
