With just one week until the transfer window slams shut, it’s clear that despite saying he only wanted four players in, Jose Mourinho is working on a fifth. Manchester United have been linked with moves for both Jose Fonte and Fabinho, and a deal for the latter could have just gotten closer.
The latest reports suggest that the AS Monaco man could be nearing a Manchester United switch, as his partner, Rebecca Tavares, has just followed Manchester United on Instagram.
Fabinho, 22, is a right-back by trade, and one who is supremely talented at that. He has the physical stature, intelligence and ability to come to Old Trafford and displace Antonio Valencia if given the time.
However, I’d certainly take this one with a pinch of salt for now. In the modern age, social media has been a way to announce transfers somewhat under the radar, but it’s also easy enough to start rumours like this without there being any truth behind it whatsoever.
