Manchester United Football Club are after some help for Michael Carrick in the holding midfielder role for next season, with Bastian Schweinsteiger thought to be a prime target for Louis van Gaal as he looks to bring some more experience into the side.
According to L’equipe, Manchester United are close to landing the German midfielder, and are prepared to pay anywhere up to €25million to land the 30-year old from Bavaria.
There is no doubting that Schweinsteiger would vastly improve United in the middle of the park, in both defensive and offensive capacities. His all-round game would be a real asset to the club and he has European experience having won the Champions League before.
L’equipe go on to say that Bastian Schweinsteiger stopped all contract negotiations with Bayern Munich themselves, as he wants to respond positively to Manchester United’s offer that is on the table.
