Manchester United splurged £37million and a then club record on signing Juan Mata from Chelsea just over twelve months ago, but since then the 26-year old has found himself in and out of the starting line-up due to varying tactics and managers.
Mata could well find himself out of Old Trafford this summer, with his old club Valencia lining up his signature for £20million, according to The Mirror.
Its an odd one, because we all know Juan Mata has an abundance of talent and ability, but he has to be used in the correct positions at all times.
The Spaniard has often found himself out on the wing or rotting on the bench which is no use to anyone, and if United can get a decent fee for him then it would make sense to recoup that whilst he still has value.
It would be a sad day when he leaves the club because of his bubbly personality and infectious behaviour and love towards the club, but footballing ability has to take a precedence.
