Man Utd could sell key duo under Jose Mourinho, says former player

Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho will already be planning to ring the changes at his new club, with a whole host of transfer ins and outs expected. Two players who could face the axe this summer are Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini, thats according to Marcel Desailly.

Desailly spent six years of his playing career at Chelsea, with the final season of that under Jose Mourinho. So he’ll know the managers tendencies better than most.

“He has some problems because he has Juan Mata, who he didn’t want at Chelsea.” Desailly began.

“I’m sure Fellaini won’t be playing in midfield. He has a lot of things to work on.”

As soon as he was announced as manager, you’d imagine that Juan Mata feared the worst. It’s well documented that the pair didn’t really get on at Chelsea, and now the Spaniard is probably set to be sold by Mourinho once again.

Marouane Fellaini is an interesting one. He has played an awful lot of football under Louis van Gaal recently, and on the whole he has done rather well.

That said, he just isn’t a typical Manchester United player, and to be honest, you wouldn’t be all that upset if he is sold.
