Manchester United have a huge summer ahead, as Louis van Gaal looks to add to his squad before the new campaign kicks off in August. However one player he will not be signing is Dani Alves.
The right-back was expected to leave Barcelona this term, but out of the blue the Brazilian has penned a new two-year deal in Catalonia.
It felt like this was a signing that looked certain to happen, but now United will have to look elsewhere in terms of a right-back, and a deal for Nathaniel Clyne could well be back on the cards.
Antonio Valencia simply isn’t good enough, and the gaffer clearly doesn’t fancy Rafael da Silva in that position, so whoever it may be, United will have to buy a new right-back this summer.
