Manchester United have reportedly been chasing Nathaniel Clyne quite heavily over the past few weeks, with some media outlets suggesting that a deal worth £18million is already in place to bring the 24-year old to Old Trafford.
However that doesn’t seem to be the case, as fresh reports from Southampton themselves have suggested that Clyne and the Saints are to open contract talks about prolonging his stay down South.
Clyne is one of the most improved players this country has seen this year, and he clearly still has a lot of growing to do.
Manchester United haven’t had a regular right-back at the club since Gary Neville left, and personally I feel Clyne is a player who could fit that bill perfectly.
He would bring the right balance of defence and attack, and is more than adequate in both departments to make Manchester United a better side all-round.
