Manchester United’s transfer window seems to be hotting up finally. Matteo Darmian is expected to sign on the dotted line today, and according to The Guardian, the club also want deals for Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger wrapped up before the pre-season tour on Monday.
Bastian Schweinsteiger would bring that experience to the club, he’s 30, and United have lacked a box-to-box midfielder of his quality for a while. At the end of the day Scholes played at the top level until he was 35, so Schweinsteiger can go on for a while yet.
Schniederlin on the other hand brings some energy to the park, as well as solid defensive abilities. The Southampton man is proven in England, and at 25 he still has his best years ahead of him.
Both of these would be good moves, and it’d probably mean the end of the long ball as Marouane Fellaini would likely be the man who misses out when everyone is fit.
