Man Utd enquire about Man City midfielder

Manchester United obviously have big transfer plans this summer, and Louis van Gaal and Edward Woodward look to mould the squad into one of the Iron Tulip’s image, ahead of a season where the Old Trafford side are expected to make huge strides up the table.

An area in which the squad needs work is midfield, and according to The Sunday People, a rather unlikely target in the form of a Manchester City player has emerged.

Edward Woodward has asked about the availability of James Miler, who is widely expected to leave The Etihad for pastures new this summer. The 29-year old has the ball firmly in his court, and if true, it depends whether or not he’d risk upsetting the City faithful by moving to their cross-town rivals.

James Milner is a typical Louis van Gaal player. Versatile, reliable and hardly puts a foot wrong. He’d suit our style of play perfectly and he could fit into the squad in a number of different positions.

Loyalties aside, I’d love to see Milner come in. He’s one of those players who does the ugly jobs extremely well and his astute performances go largely unnoticed.

Would Milner be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
