Manchester United are looking increasingly likely to lose David de Gea this coming summer, as he eyes a move back to his home city – Madrid. Replacing him was never going to be an easy task, but according to ESPN, a certain Frenchman is on United’s radar.
Hugo Lloris has been one of the outstanding Premier League shot-stoppers this term, up there with the likes of De Gea and Courtois. Rumours about his future are up in the air also, with some suggesting he has an £20million release clause in his contract if a Champions League club comes in for him.
If we were to lose De Gea, Lloris would be my number one choice as a replacement. He knows the English league well, at 28 he is mature enough, but has plenty of years left in him, and his all-round game is absolutely superb.
Like we said earlier, replacing David de Gea is almost impossible, but Lloris is probably the best you are going to get in the current market, and I’d be more than confident with him in-between the sticks.
