Man Utd eye Uruguayan goalkeeper as De Gea replacement

Manchester United are obviously eyeing up goalkeepers in the event that David de Gea does pursue a move to Real Madrid this summer, and we’ve already been linked with a whole host of shot-stoppers, but according to The Metro, we’re now looking at Fernando Muslera.

The 28-year old currently plays his football for Galatasaray in Turkey, and he has been a mainstay in their side for the last four years since making the switch from Lazio in 2011.

Louis van Gaal thinks that Muslera could be available for somewhere around the £15million mark, meaning that the club would profit from the £30million David de Gea sale that looks to be incoming.

Personally I haven’t seen an awful lot of Muslera, but from what I have seen in the Champions League he tends to make some costly mistakes. Obviously the United coaching staff will have scouted him extensively, and if Louis van Gaal sees him as our new number one then you have to back that decision.

Would Muslera be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
