Man Utd fan favourite facing exit from club as Van Gaal plans clear out

Manchester United look all set for another huge summer spending spree this year, but alongside that come the sales of players the Dutchman hasn’t been particularly pleased with this season. One of those players who is reportedly set to leave is Rafael da Silva.

According to The Telegraph, Van Gaal and Ed Woodward had a meeting regarding players who can depart and members of the squad who’s contract should be renewed. Hot topics were thought to include David de Gea, Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Rafael da Silva.

Van Gaal clearly isnt a big fan of the Brazilian twin, with him not starting a Premier League game since way back in November. Since then, spells in the U21s have followed as the likes of Paddy McNair and Antonio Valencia have shared the right-back berth between them.

Rafael enters the final twelve months of his contract this summer, so I’d imagine Van Gaal will be wanting to sell him rather than risk losing him on a free the year after.

Should Van Gaal give Rafael another chance? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
