Manchester United have been handed a huge boost, as club record midfielder Angel di Maria could be set for a return to action against Stoke City on New Years Day. The news comes from Kevin Palmer of the Sunday World, who claims that Di Maria returned to training and could be in line to feature tomorrow.
Despite Di Maria’s prolonged absence from the side, Manchester United have still won plenty of football matches – having gone unbeaten since the slender 1-0 loss away at City back in November.
Stoke away isn’t the ideal game for Di Maria to return due to the physicality of Mark Hughes’ Potter side, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Louis van Gaal eases him back into things away at Yeovil in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.
