Borussia Dortmund’s fortunes still haven’t turned around, and this could be Manchester United’s perfect chance to launch an audacious bid for Mats Hummels. The German international is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world, and United could’ve just been handed the perfect opportunity to make their move.
“It’s pretty astonishing that we are so pathetic.” Hummels said.
Although Hummels has been loyal to Dortmund for some years now, it’d be hard not to get frustrated with an awful run of form they are currently on in the league. They currently sit joint-bottom of the table, which is so poor given they finished second in the league last year.
Hummels would cost around £40million even if United wanted to make their move. We all know what quality he has, and he’d be a superb addition. The only concern would be his injury record, which hasn’t been great in recent years.
