Manchester United are known to be pursuing the signature of at least one centre-back in this January transfer window, but as the deadline looms then that was looking unlikely. However today, Sam Pilger, who writes for FourFourTwo and The Times, has said that United have been given ‘promising signs’ that Hummels could sign before Monday’s deadline.
Hummels, 26, has dropped hints that he may well be tiring of life in Borussia Dortmund and their current form, and the German international would probably be able to hand-pick his next club if he does indeed want to leave.
Manchester United would almost certainly be the first ones in line for his much-desired signature, and he’d definitely go a long way into improving our much-maligned defence at this moment in time.
There are increasingly promising signs for #MUFC that they could still sign Mats Hummels from Dortmund by the end of the window on Monday
