Manchester United have two Spanish goalkeepers on their books, and both of which looked set to leave Old Trafford during the transfer window. Eventually, neither of the moves went through and the pair are still at the club. David de Gea seems to be in Van Gaal’s good books, whereas Victor Valdes certainly isn’t.
The World Cup winner has recently been left out of Manchester United’s Champions League squad, but recently given a place in the Premier League squad.
At this moment in time it looks as though Valdes is probably the third or fourth choice keeper at best. However the 33-year old has taken to Twitter to thank the fans for their support, and added that he will keep working hard every day no matter what happens.
This is a great attitude from the Spaniard. Who knows, he could well win back Louis van Gaal’s trust and work his way up the goalkeeper pyramid rather quickly.
No matter what happens. The only way I know is to work hard every day. Thank you all for your support ! #mufc pic.twitter.com/Jj3GRKzPnU
