Man Utd ‘have deal in place’ to sign midfielder

Louis van Gaal is clearly looking to bolster his squad with only proven quality this summer, and one player who has often been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks is Borussia Dortmund’s central midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan.

Dortmund have confirmed that the 24-year old will not be signing a new deal at the Westfalonstadion, and the Sunday Times say that Manchester United already ‘have a deal in place’ to sign Gundogan at the end of the season.

We all saw just how unhappy Louis van Gaal was at signing Depay before the season was over, and it looks as though the Iron Tulip is keen to avoid that happening here.

It looks inevitable that Gundogan will become a Manchester United player, but not until the final whistle goes on the final day of the Premier League season so it doesn’t disrupt the current group who are already at the club.

Gundogan would be a fantastic signing, and it means that United wouldn’t have to rely so heavily on the ageing Michael Carrick who has been superb all season.
