Man Utd interested in signing Bundesliga striker

Manchester United continue to be linked with a number of strikers this summer as they aim to replace the departed Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao. PSG’s Edinson Cavani seems to be the most likely target for Louis Van Gaal according to reports but Sky Sports are reporting that Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewanowski is also a target for United.

Robert Lewandowski’s agent Cezary Kucharski has said that his client would not come cheap and that United would have to fork out over £35million to land the Polish striker. Kucharski has told Polish TV “Robert is one of the most valued strikers on the market who guarantees goals, guarantees assists, excitement. He has shown that over many years during his career.”

Lewandowski, 26, moved to Bayern from arch rivals Borrusia Dortmund in 2014 and has gone on to make 49 appearances and score 25 goals along the way. If Bayern were persuaded into selling Lewandowski it may well see Di Maria heading the other way in a part exchange. Pep Guardiola is a known admirer of Di Maria and has been linked with a move for the Argentinian this summer.

United are in desperate need of a striker with only Wayne Rooney to lead the line. Youngster James Wilson is likely to leave on loan this summer and Javier Hernandez is expected to be sold with West Ham, Roma and Wolfsburg interested in the £8million rated Mexican.
