Man Utd join in race for wantaway Liverpool starlet

Manchester United have declared their interest in an unlikely player, with Raheem Sterling on Louis van Gaal’s radar, according to Neil Custis of The Sun. Sterling has admitted that he won’t be extending his deal at Liverpool, and he wants to leave this summer.

“Manchester United and Manchester City have [declared they are interested],” Custis told talkSPORT.

“A move to Manchester United is obviously less likely, someone moving from Liverpool to Man United has not happened for decades and decades.

“They are both very much in for him though.”

Like Custis said, its highly unlikely that Liverpool would be willing to sell Raheem Sterling to their biggest rivals, unless an astronomical fee is on the table – probably somewhere around the £40million mark, or maybe even more.

Sterling is an extremely talented player and there is no denying that. At 20, he still has years ahead of him, but my concern is that he’s too big for his own boots, and the way he has handled his incoming departure from Liverpool has been atrocious, and thats not something I’d welcome at United.
