Manchester United are certainly in the market for a new striker this summer, after Radamel Falcao moved back to AS Monaco because of an unsuccessful loan spell. One player who has caught the eye of Louis van Gaal is Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca, but the club will be rivalled for his signature.
According to The Telegraph, United are amongst a whole host of clubs chasing the Columbian’s signature, with Liverpool thought to be leading the race to sign him at the present time.
His current side Sevilla are adamant that they will not sell the 28-year old for anything less than his £21million release clause, but once that gets activated by one club then it could see many others follow suit in an attempt to prise him to England.
Bacca would bring some much-needed pace and clinical finishing ability to a Manchester United squad that lacked goals last year despite plenty of firepower. Maybe it just needs freshening up somewhat, and Radamel Falcao’s international teammate would certainly do that.
Would Bacca be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
