Man Utd make £40m offer for Kane as he is left out of Spurs squad

Manchester United have let both Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao leave Old Trafford this summer, which has led to plenty of rumours about the club looking to delve into the transfer market and add some real quality to support Wayne Rooney in that role.

It had all gone quiet on that front, but today during Tottenham’s Audi Cup match, the commentator said that Harry Kane had been left out of the match day squad due to a huge £40million offer from Manchester United for the 21-year old.

Kane was expected to be involved, but was pulled out late on due to the bid from Louis van Gaal’s men, as the two sides will go head-to-head in the season opener on Saturday.

Whilst Kane would be a fantastic signing he has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at White Hart Lane for the upcoming campaign, and £40million certainly seems steep for a man who has a good eight months of football in his young career.

Would Kane be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. Hmmmmm….. was Kane left out of the squad due to:

    A) Massive bid from United
    B) Having played 85 mins v Real the day before

You know I’m torn on this one :/

  2. Yeah apparently it’s because he was left out the squad – except he wasn’t he was on the bench; try lookng at the Spurs web site. Utd fans are getting decidely desperate!

Still this is the side that builds teams and not buys them; well according to their fan base – ROFL!!!!

  3. Far Eastern Man U supporter to Harry Kane: “Are you going to join Manchester United?”
    HK ‘Fuck off!”
I think that sums up his position. He was left out because he played most of yesterday’s game and will be starting Saturday.

  4. Who would honestly spend £40 million on a player who is so overhyped its laughable he has probably just had his best season of career (not to date but overall) he will end up being another Michael Ricketts / Darren bent type one season wonder who will be well an truly out of his depth at old trafford
