Manchester United sanctioned a huge £38million last summer, to bring in the then little-known Anthony Martial from AS Monaco. What a debut season the young forward has had, finding the back of the net seventeen times and adding countless assists.
However, according to The Sun, Martial is already demanding a new contract at Old Trafford. He now earns £68,000-a-week, but the English media outlet reckon he is demanding a five-figure sum of around £100,000-a-week due to his impressive campaign.
Jose Mourinho has already signed off new contracts for both Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Marcus Rashford, but in an entirely different scenario. Those players were coming to the end of their current deals and needed tying down.
Whereas Anthony Martial is a new signing at Old Trafford and is just one year into his first deal here. He should be concentrating solely on his football, and as Sir Matt Busby once famously said – don’t chase the money at United, because it will come your way if you earn it.
