Man Utd move for Darmian to be complete today

Manchester United’s transfer window seems to be finally moving in the right direction, as Louis van Gaal looks to add to his squad before the lads take off for their pre-season tour of the United States of America this coming Monday.

The club seem to be closing in on the £12.7million signature of the Torino right-back Matteo Darmian, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal could be finalised today.

Louis van Gaal is keen on bringing in a new right-back this summer, as Rafael da Silva clearly didn’t impress the Iron Tulip, and Antonio Valencia has been largely inconsistent in his makeshift position.

The Italian will fit the bill perfectly. He’s strong, can play off both feet and is extremely versatile as he can play all along the back four.

Darmian, 25, has played over 100 games for his current side Torino, as well as 13 international appearances for Italy.

Would Darmian be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
