Man Utd offer colossal fee plus De Gea to sign Ramos

Manchester United have shown a genuine interest in Sergio Ramos throughout the last few days, with Louis van Gaal keen to bolster his defensive options ahead of the clubs return to the Champions League this season.

According to Cope, United have offered Real Madrid a staggering amount of money, totalling €75million [including David de Gea] for the transfer of the 29-year old defender.

These latest reports coming out of Spain seem totally unrealistic, but if true it does show that Manchester United certainly mean business this summer.

At the end of the day, Ramos is one of the best defenders in the world, but with just two years left on his contract, and David de Gea being used as a makeweight in the deal, €75million seems way too much to pay for the Spain international.

Cope go on to say that United have offered Sergio Ramos a five-year contract, meaning he would be at the club until he is at least 34 if he signs.

Is Ramos worth this absurd amount of money? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. If these reports are true and this deal goes through i would have lost all faith in LVG… sick of Real taking our best players, Man Utd need to stop signing players that want to use the club as a spring board for a transfer to a prefered destination theirs rather than becomimg a legend for united. I think its so disrespectful of Dea Ge wanting to leave after two good seasons, we feed him good food train him well, put some weight on his skinny arse make him the best goalkeeper in the world after he was to scared to come and collect the ball now he wants out to Real to have a ? bash with the rest of those ? it makes me sick. We need a world class right back in two top center halves defensive mid two world class strikers hernandez and rvp must leave… want to see more of andreas P next season. Come on LVG dont sign old players mate 27 boaderline, if we get ramos for cheap fair enough but €40mill euros plus De Gea give me what your smoking mate

  2. I assume that this is Cope International Sports? They are a tinpot NFL outfit mate. What do they know about football. This is a infantile article copied and pasted by lazy hacks in the sports news business.
How about get off your backsides and find out wtf Woodward is doing. Has he died? Is he still on holiday?
