Manchester United are openly in the market looking for new players to strengthen their squad this January, and another name is set to be added to the list after he confessed that he ‘has always liked Manchester United from when he was young’.
Axel Witsel, 26, is currently plying his trade in the Russian League for Zenit Saint Petersburg, and has fuelled the fire about a potential move to Manchester United in the not too distant future.
When quizzed about whether he’d like to play in England, Witsel said:
“I want to play in one of the top clubs in Europe one day. It’s true that I like the Premier League, because it is one of the best leagues in the world, for me, together with Germany and Spain. It is a very good league; it is a crazy league. A lot of my colleagues play there, but we will see. I am still young, only 26. We’ll see in the future. I have always liked Manchester United from when I was young.”
Maybe there is absolutely nothing in this quote whatsoever, but he has handpicked Manchester United’s name out of a whole host of top clubs in England.
He and Marouane Fellaini would certainly form a formidable midfield duo that most sides would find tough to break down. It’d be tough to tell which one is which though, purely because of the hair!
