Man Utd player ratings during 3-1 win over Aston Villa (Premier League away, 2020/21)

Man Utd would win 3-1 vs Aston Villa, with our Red Devils player ratings now in…

Dean Henderson – Couldn’t do anything about the Villa opener – but that was about his only real involvement of note. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Probably United’s best defender. He grew into the game and picked up an assist for Greenwood’s strike. 8/10

Victor Lindelof – Showed his glaring weakness on more than one occasion as he was outmuscled and outfought for the ball. He was at fault for the Villa goal, while getting away with another big mistake. 4/10

Harry Maguire – Not his finest hour as he almost conceded an own goal. Also picked up a booking, before being forced off with an injury. I hope it’s nothing serious as we’re going to need him. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Consistently amongst United’s best performers and today was no different. He was always getting forward to try and make something happen. 6/10

Scott McTominay – Played his (bad) part in the Villa goal. Just wasn’t really at the races. 4/10

Fred – Not great. Played a heavy pass into McTominay for the opener. Did improve from there, but only marginally. 5/10

Bruno Fernandes – Scored his customary goal and was always trying to make things happen. He did look a little tired, though. 6/10

Paul Pogba – Showed his strength and presence on more than one occasion. Also won a penalty. 6/10

Marcus Rashford – It was nice to see him get a start and he looked decent. Played in a lovely ball for Cavani who wrapped it up. 6/10

Mason Greenwood – United’s best attacker. Worked hard, his movement was great and tucked away his goal in typical fashion. 8/10

Subs:

Edinson Cavani – Scored a trademark goal to ensure victory. He was excellent.

Eric Bailly – Made some good tackles.

Nemanja Matic – Brought on to see the game out.
