Man Utd player ratings vs Arsenal from 2-0 loss

David de Gea – Couldn’t do anything about the Arsenal opener. Got lucky with a poor clearance which led to Pepe hitting the post. 5/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Did okay defensively. I’d like to see him get forward more often. 5/10

Victor Lindelof – Probably the better of the two centre-halves, though that’s not saying much. 6/10

Harry Maguire – I’d like to see more leadership from our captain. 5/10

Luke Shaw – Disastrous from minute one. Out of position, out of shape and just poor throughout. Why on earth didn’t Brandon Williams start this game after his MOTM display last time out? 2/10

Nemanja Matic – Started slowly. Had a better second 45, but you can tell his best days are behind him. 4/10

Fred – Possibly United’s best player on the day… Kept things ticking over with his passing, but there was no killer instinct. 6/10

Jesse Lingard – Quiet. Didn’t do anywhere near enough to get United moving forward. How he’s still starting games for this club in 2020 is beggars belief. 2/10

Daniel James – Showed his pace in the early going but drifted in and out of the game. 5/10

Marcus Rashford – His quietest outing in a while summed up by a wild shot midway through the second 45. 4/10

Anthony Martial – To his credit, he never stopped working and made some nice solo runs to try and penetrate the Arsenal backline. He needed help. 6/10

Subs:

Andreas Pereira – Did more in one minute than Lingard in an hour.

Mason Greenwood – Struggled to get into the game.

Juan Mata – Quiet.
