Man Utd prepare huge contract offer for David de Gea

Manchester United are prepared to make David de Gea the highest paid goalkeeper in football history, according to Spanish media outlet Sport. They claim that United have offered the Spaniard a €228k a week deal, which is equivalent to £166,000 – a huge fee for a shot-stopper.

However when you factor in just how many points he has won us single-handedly since joining the club, you have to feel that he is more than worth it.

De Gea won Manchester United’s Player of the Year award last campaign, and its more than likely that he’ll double up and win his second consecutive award come the end of this season.

With him entering his last year of his contract in the summer, United would struggle to recoup much more than what they paid for the Spaniard, so it seems a no brainer to offer him whatever he wants to stay in Manchester.

It’d cost an awful lot to replace him, and I don’t think there is anyone on the market who is anywhere near his level and available at this moment in time, as a business decision there really should be only one outcome.
