Man Utd pushing hard to sign Madrid defender valued at £46million

Around midday yesterday rumours emerged about Sergio Ramos’ long-term future at Real Madrid – a club where the Spaniard is regarded as a hero by the home crowd. However things are moving fast here, and Manchester United could be about to bid for the 29-year old.

According to the Independent, Manchester United are pushing to sign Ramos with Benitez holding out for around £46million if Real Madrid are to sell their stat defender who can play both centre-back and right-back.

David de Gea could be used as a makeweight in the deal, but the side from the Spanish capital would expect the shot-stopper plus a fair amount of cash alongside that.

For me Sergio Ramos would be perfect, and if he is attainable we should go get him. He’d bring experience, enthusiasm and ability to the United back line, and he could slot right into the side and improve us from minute one.
