Manchester United’s right-back spot has been a problem for a few years now, and Louis van Gaal tried to solve that by permanently shifting Antonio Valencia there, and its a job the Ecuadorian has been very hit and miss with.
However, according to the usually reliable Sunday People, Manchester United are set to receive an £8.5million bid for Valencia, from the Spanish club Valencia CF.
Its common knowledge that United are after signing a new right-back this summer, but it also looks like we’ll be losing Rafael da Silva when the window opens, so if we were to get rid of both Valencia and Rafael then that could leave us extremely short if our new right-back were to get injured.
Antonio Valencia isn’t getting any younger, and at 29 £8.5million might just be too good to turn down, and who knows, it could give Rafael one final chance next term.
