Manchester United are expected to go on a big summer splurge in the summer, with Louis van Gaal choosing not to buy anyone in the January transfer window that has just passed. According to Gianluca DiMarzio, United sent scouts to look at these two Serie A strikers.
Van Gaal has often bemoaned the lack of a real top quality, fast striker in the United squad – and that explains why he has sent scouts to look at Mauro Icardi and Pablo Dybala. Both are 21-years of age, have full of pace and bags of potential.
Dybala in particular has scored goals for fun in the league this season for Palermo, with many expecting him to leave the Italian side in the summer for a fee upwards of £30million.
Its ironic, because United have two of the best strikers in the game in Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie, but both of which aren’t the quickest and seem to perform much better in systems where only one striker is used. This allows them to stay in the centre rather than running the channels like they are being forced to do here.
