Louis van Gaal and Manchester United have huge transfer plans this summer, as they look to make the club a European powerhouse once again. The club will obviously aim the bar high, but in this instance it looks as though they’ve set it slightly higher than expected.
According to The Express, Manchester United bid a huge £110million to try and persuade Real Madrid into selling two of their prized assets in the form of Gareth Bale and Raphael Varane.
That bid was immediately rejected by Rafael Benitez’s new club, and it looks as though they aren’t interested in selling the pair anytime soon.
Gareth Bale is reportedly unhappy in the Spanish capital, after boos from the home fans and poor performances all-round this season, however he has come out and said he would like to stay and try and win the affection of the fans back.
Raphael Varane is an interesting one. Its widely known that he isn’t playing anywhere near as much as he’d like to be. The young Frenchman is the best young centre-half in world football at the moment and if we could lure him to Old Trafford that’d go a long way to securing our future at the heart of the defence for the foreseeable future.
