Man Utd striker holds ‘crisis talks’ about Old Trafford future

Louis van Gaal remained coy regarding the future of Robin van Persie in his weekly pre-match press conference yesterday, telling the media to ‘wait and see’ if the 31-year old Dutch striker will be at the club next season.

Today, Eurosport suggest that Van Persie has held crisis talks with his agent after what has been an underwhelming season for the experienced forward.

Louis van Gaal clearly has a tough decision to make regarding his fellow Dutchman. Van Persie is one of the best strikers in the league on his day, but this season he hasn’t shown anywhere near his capabilities.

If he left, United would be getting one of their biggest earners off the wage bill, but if he stayed then we’ve obviously got a lethal striker on our books – either way, this one is probably a win win for Manchester United Football Club.
