Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez has turned into somewhat of the forgotten man at Old Trafford, and after an unsuccessful loan spell at Real Madrid, the Mexican hit man is all set for a return to the club where he made his name.
Under David Moyes, Chicharito found himself out on the bench for the most part, and Louis van Gaal made his intentions clear by loaning him to Real Madrid on the final day of the transfer window.
However Hernandez could be set for one final chance next term, according to the usually reliable Guardian newspaper. Whether that be on the pre-season tour, or in the Premier League itself we’re yet to discover, but with Radamel Falcao already on his way back to France there is definitely an opening for a striker to make a name for himself.
We’ve lacked any real pace and conviction up front at times, and Chicharito certainly provides both of those. It’d be great to see him fight his way back into Van Gaal’s plans, similarly how Marouane Fellaini and Ashley Young did this season.
