Manchester United Football Club have completed some fantastic transfer business already this window, but there is still work to do if Louis van Gaal’s side are to challenge for the Premier League title – one area that needs improving is the defence.
A long-term target of United’s has been Nicolas Otamendi of Valencia, and today the Old Trafford side received a boost, as the 27-year old from Buenos Aires didn’t appear at the club’s kit launch today.
With Jonny Evans departing, that leaves just Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling in terms of senior centre-backs, so United must bring in at least one central defender this window.
With Sergio Ramos looking increasingly likely to stay at Real Madrid, Nicolas Otamendi would be an outstanding bit of business by Manchester United. He has emerged as one of the best centre-backs in world football recently, and the Argentinian would go a long way to improving our back line.
Would Otamendi be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
