Man Utd target given 10 days to decide upon future

Manchester United could have news on their first potential signing of the summer, after Ronald Koeman told reports that he has given long-term target Nathaniel Clyne just ten days to decide on his future at Southampton.

Clyne has been subject to major interest from Manchester United, and Koeman obviously knows about that as the right-back is yet to pen a new deal at the Saints.

“We’re still speaking with Clyney and his agent, but of course we have to know in 10 days,” Koeman told the press.

“The club is doing an offer the maximum what we can do and then we expect the player’s answer.

“I’ve spoken to Clyney, he’s very happy and of course there is some interest but nobody has really bid for the player. All the players are happy with how the team is doing.

“But it’s football, you never know. In football if you go in your last season of contract, we don’t like that.”

Its quite obvious that Clyne is stalling in the hope that an official bid comes in for him, and its clear that all parties involved just want to know about Clyne’s future for next season.

At the end of the day the sooner this ones done and dusted the better, but it looks as though United are probably stalling to see if other targets are available first.
