Manchester United are targeting Everton’s Seamus Coleman as a January transfer target, according to the usually reliable Guardian broadsheet. The Reds expect to fork out at least £20million to get the Republic of Ireland man signed up to replace the injury prone Rafael da Silva.
Coleman was one of the standouts in the Premier League last season, marauding forward on every occasion and chipping in with plenty of goals and assists.
Manchester United believe that Coleman is a more realistic summer signing due to Everton’s unwillingness to sell mid-season, but hopefully the 26-year old will be willing to make the move happen within the next few weeks.
He’d be an ideal signing for the club. United need a right-back who cans tay injury-free and take part in every game from now until the end of the season. Coleman has had a good injury record over the last eighteen months, and he’d fit the bill perfectly.
