Man Utd target to leave current club this summer

Manchester United’s somewhat unexpected interest in Hoffenhiem’s Roberto Firmino has been reported quite regularly over the last week or so, and today, Sky Germany have said that the Brazilian will be leaving his current club this summer.

The 23-year old made the move to Germany back in 2011, and has been lighting up the Bundesliga with his blistering pace on the counter attack ever since.

However last season was the one where he really made an impression,  catching the eye of several Premier League sides including Manchester United and their North-West rivals Liverpool, as well as Chelsea and Arsenal.

It is thought that United are currently leading the way for his signature, with Sky Germany reckoning a fee somewhere close to the region of £20million will be enough to seal the deal for the South American.

Firmino is another one of those players whom United don’t really need to sign, but he’d be more of a luxury. Louis van Gaal clearly fancies the Brazilian though, but I’m not sure he suits our possession football, as he plays more of a counter attacking style of play.

Would Firmino be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
