Man Utd to battle for Memphis Depay’s signature

Manchester United expected a Dutch overhaul of the squad in the summer, as Louis van Gaal was widely anticipated to bring in at least a few players who were part of his Holland side that managed to secure a third placed finish at the World Cup.

That wasn’t the case, with Daley Blind being the sole Netherland’s man brought into Old Trafford during the off-season. That could be about to change though, as according to the Sunday Express, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to battle it out for Memphis Depay’s signature.

Depay is just twenty years of age and many of the games experts are touting him to go all the way to the top. He currently plays his football for PSV, and the rapid wide-man is making great strides in the footballing world since his cameo appearance at the World Cup.

Louis van Gaal knows his game inside-out, and the fee being mentioned for Depay is around the £15million mark, so its surely worth the gamble.

Would Depay be a good addition? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
