Man Utd to be offered chance to sign Andre Silva: report

Man Utd could be offered the chance to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward, Andre Silva.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have scored the most Premier League goals this season. However, weirdly, you still feel like there’s more to come…

Ironically, it has been stopping goals at the other end which has been the problem. Seemingly, that isn’t stopping Manchester United from searching for another striker… Enter, Andre Silva.

The story comes from The Sun, who state that United are to be offered the opportunity to sign the prolific striker for just £30million.

Silva has 18 goals in 20 Bundesliga games this term, putting him only second to Robert Lewandowski in the goal-scoring charts.

The Portuguese would only cost around £30m due to the fact we’re still in a global pandemic. However, a move would only happen if Edinson Cavani’s Red Devils contract isn’t renewed.

After struggling in Italy, Siva has been shipped out on loan a couple of times – and it’s in Germany where he’s now found his shooting boots again. That led to Frankfurt signing him on a permanent deal following a successful loan.

Why United should make their move regardless of Cavani…

Silva knows where the back of the net is, which is exactly what you want in a striker. Anthony Martial is struggling badly right now and if that continues, he’s going to need replacing.

Silva, 25, could be the perfect player to buy. He’s relatively cheap, still improving and could learn an awful lot from Cavani over the next year or two – before making that lead striker role his own as he enters his prime.

This deal makes perfect sense. And at a great price. I guess it all comes down to just how much Solskjaer believes in Martial.
