Manchester United could be preparing a move to pip Arsenal and Tottenham to the signing of proven Premier League midfielder Morgan Schniederlin. The 25-year old was at the heart of Southampton’s victory over United yesterday, and the rumours about his long-term Saints future are certainly up in the air.
The Frenchman has been at Southampton for the duration of his professional career, coming through the ranks and starting his competitive playing in England’s third tier of football. Since then he has gone from strength-to-strength, and proven on more than one occasion that he can outplay some of the best midfielders in the game.
He’s a player I’d love to see come through the Old Trafford doors, particularly after watching him closely yesterday. His ability to help out the defence and then quickly join in on the counter attack is a rare gift in football these days, and its something the Southampton man does very well.
No wonder the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham were seriously interested in the summer, and I’d expect more of the so called ‘bigger clubs’ to go in for him in the not too distant future.
