Man Utd to lose David de Gea to Real Madrid this summer – report

A few years ago, Manchester United made the swoop for the little-known Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea. The Old Trafford faithful have watched a skinny little Spaniard develop into one of the worlds best, but as time goes on, its looking increasingly likely he’ll leave the club.

According to the Manchester Evening News, ‘reliable Real Madrid sources’ are confident that De Gea will switch the Red of United for the Madrid white kit this summer, which is obviously a huge blow.

Contract talks have reportedly been ongoing for pretty much the season but it looks as though our worst fears are set to come true in just a couple of months time.

Victor Valdes was signed back in January, but we’re yet to see a debut for the former Spanish #1, it looks as though that move was a methodical one by Van Gaal, and he could well be the first choice keeper next summer.

For now, lets enjoy David de Gea. You can hardly blame him for leaving, and when that day does come he’ll no doubt leave with our blessings.

Is Valdes good enough to replace De Gea? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
