Man Utd to make ‘4 or 5’ signings according to SSN

Manchester United are widely expected to have a big summer transfer window in terms of incomings and outgoings, and James Cooper of Sky Sports News has now put a number on just how many new faces we could see at Old Trafford next term.

The Manchester correspondant said that United are expected to make ‘four or five’ signings when this campaign ends, with the club set to spend in excess of £150million once again.

“I’d expect another four maybe five signings hot on the heels of Depay and there could be some other surprises too” Cooper said.

One of those players is  the aforementioned Memphis Depay, who cost around £25million from PSV, but Louis van Gaal isn’t keen on announcing anymore transfers whilst the season is still ongoing.

United are reportedly looking at the Dortmund duo of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, both of which would significantly improve our starting XI.

Other papers are suggesting that Gareth Bale could be the marquee signing of the summer as he seems to be getting unhappier by the game in Real Madrid.

The more likely option is Nathaniel Clyne coming in at right-back, as well as a proven Premier League keeper as a David de Gea replacement.

Its also worth noting that they’ll be a fair few outgoing transfers this summer too.
