Manchester United have a big summer ahead if they wish to take the next step and join the race for the title, and Louis van Gaal clearly knows that as he looks to bolster his squad before the start of the campaign.
One player who seems to be a high priority is Nicolas Otamendi. The Argentinian has been linked with a move to United quite often over the past month or so, and today new reports have emerged about his potential transfer.
Spanish media suggest that United are now readying a cash plus player bid for the 28-year old, with United prepared to offer either Nani or Javier Hernandez as part of the deal.
This would be a great bit of business by Ed Woodward. Not only would we be getting a fantastic player for cheaper, it’d also mean clearing some of the dead wood out of the current crop of players.
